It's been close to a week since our comrades Achileo Kivumbi, Wakabi Grace Smart and Mugumya Gaddafi were violently abducted, taken to Lugazi, Nansana and other places. After some time, they were dumped at CPS Kampala before being transferred to Masaka CPS yesterday. Although they were largely interrogated about the National Unity Platform and its plans, they were eventually driven to Masaka and the regime is plotting to charge them with aggravated robbery! It's long past the constitutionally accepted 48 hours since their abduction. They are yet to be released or presented before any court. THE IMPUNITY! As we held our press conference today, five of our comrades who have been undergoing torture at the CMI (DIS) facility in Mbuya were released and came straight to office. Some have been missing for up to two weeks. One of these comrades was able to smuggle out the notorious blind-fold which these criminals put on people's heads to ensure they don't see where they're being taken. Upon abduction, they blindfold their victims, force them to make several 360-degree turns which causes them dizziness and to lose their bearings so that they don't know which direction they're being taken to. Also, the blindfold ensures that the victim does not identify the persons subjecting them to torture. Very glad their criminality is being exposed everyday. There will be a time to account for each crime committed against our people. #FREEUGANDA
Yasin Ssekitoleko aka Machete's health has been deteriorating from the day he embarked on a hunger strike on the 19th of this month. For five days now, he has not been taking meals at Kitalya Prison in protest of his continued illegal detention. Machete is one of the nine @NUP_Ug political prisoners who refused to plead guilty to crimes they did not commit, and Museveni's minister Balaam promised that those who refused would die in prison. After 4 years in detention without trial, and following the Supreme Court ruling, he has been protesting the regime's deliberate decision to keep them under illegal detention. This evening, prison authorities made a panic call to his mother, asking her to speak with her son on phone and persuade him resume taking meals. According to her, Machete was too weak to even speak elaborately on phone. He is crying out for justice on his behalf and on behalf of the other prisoners of conscience! #FreeAllPoliticalPrisonersinUganda #FreeUganda
Some people often tell us to ignore Museveni's brutal son's tweets as mere rumblings of a drunkard. The difference is that Museveni's son is the head of our military- however illegally he was gifted that position by his father. He has the capacity to follow through with these threats and he has started already. The abductions, torture and raidings of this week are evidence of what he is capable of. We have traced some of the stolen computers, phones and other electronic gadgets to the Police Headquarters at Naguru while others have been taken to CMI (DIS) headquarters at Mbuya according to the GPS on these devices. There are also attempts to hack into some of these devices. Thankfully, our IT teams are doing their best to protect our data except that which they found in hard copy. These criminals often forget that they're dealing with a more sophisticated generation! We've been monitoring all their criminal actions in real time.
If these criminals believe thay what they do is right and proper, why do they cover their faces? The explanation can be only one: they are fully aware that they're being commanded to commit crimes against the people and that the time to account will come. Let's keep on keeping on. Journalists have been blocked from coming close to the @NUP_Ug Headquarters where criminals on Museveni's orders are still conducting illegal operations. What are they hiding?
These criminals have yet again cordoned off all roads leading to the @NUP_Ug Headquarters and resumed their illegal operations inside our premises at Kavule. Yesterday, they broke every door, disconnected our internet and CCTV systems and switched off electricity in some parts. We don't know yet, what they are planting there or taking away. The criminal regime is on rampage. BUT WE ARE NOT SCARED.
The @NUP_Ug Headquarters still under siege! The police ridiculously claims that the illegal operations - conducted in the absence of all party officials, amounted to a search! How shameless! As we all recall, they did an exact same illegal operation in 2020 as we prepared for the election! Just like now, they took away t-shirts, umbrellas, documents and even money. We are yet to understand what they have taken away from Kavule, even though some onlookers said they saw the criminals loading computers and sacks of other items onto their trucks. They are persecuting us simply because they are SCARED OF OUR ORGANISATIONAL ABILITIES. The situation at the @NUP_Ug School of Leadership at Kamwokya after the raid by the rogue regime. They have taken away all the books in our library, all computers, all t-shirts and other materials at the shop. They have ransacked all offices and taken away all important documents. They didn't even leave any single document at the noticeboard! They broke all doors and shuttered some glasses. A regime in absolute fear! #FreeUganda
This morning before the criminals raided our offices at Kavule, we hosted over 40 elders from Teso Sub-region to discuss how to strengthen @NUP_Ug in the region. They expressed frustration over the many failed promises by the Museveni regime - including the repeated failure to compensate the Teso War Claimants. Guess what happened after the meeting? The military abducted them, drove them away, and later dumped them at Wandegeya Police Station where they are still being held! Some of these people are in their 80s. Museveni and his brutal son have gone mad. This is evidence that they are panicking and in great fear of the people. Our legal team is doing its best to follow them up.

After exposing the criminals and the sustained pressure from all of you, this night, they drove @NUP_Ug's Election Management officials Mercy Walukamba and Rahma Juma from Mbuya (CMI/DIS) and dumped them at SIU Kireka, from where they were released! They have told us how they were subjected to all manner of threats and intimidation and subjected to interrogation about very ridiculous things but they are of strong spirits. Let's keep the pressure on UNTIL ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS ARE OUT and UNTIL UGANDA IS FREE.
Unknown to these criminals, the vehicle in which our Election Management team was travelling when they were abducted from Mpigi had a tracker. It tracked the vehicle up to Mbuya Hill, at the CMI torture chambers, where it is still parked. Previously, our comrades who have been detained there have been tortured, raped and in some cases murdered. In addition to these, Chairman Nyanzi Fred Ssentamu is still missing as well as comrades Kinobe Rashid, Sharif Kiyemba, and the others. Despite the massive security deployment and intimidation, we have this afternoon held prayers at the @NUP_Ug headquarters for all political prisoners and missing comrades. We were honored to have in attendance leaders from different political formations, as well as Dr. @kizzabesigye1’s wife, Hon. @Winnie_Byanyima, and his lead lawyer, Hon. @MarthaKarua Beyond the message of solidarity and oneness shown at the prayers, today’s gathering was a testament to a growing reality: Uganda belongs to all of us. It has been powerful to see comrades from different political backgrounds standing together, united by a common dream: the dream of a new Uganda where justice and freedom abound; a new Uganda where power belongs to the people and not to a handful of oppressors. The ongoing illegal detention of Dr. Besigye, @kiizaeron, Bobi Young, Chairman Nyanzi, Yasin Ssekitoleko and other victims of political repression should remind us that under the Museveni dictatorship, no one is truly free. Today, it is Besigye; tomorrow, it could be any one of us. The fear tactics, the military trials, the abductions—all these are desperate actions of a regime in its twilight. Dictator Museveni knows that his time is up. The more he tightens his grip, the more Uganda and its people slip from his control. I call upon all comrades here and abroad to rise up and take action. We must do everything within our means to collapse dictator Museveni and his brutal regime. We must put our feet down and say "no more!" to this nonsense!
