Yesterday upon arrival in Mbale, we were greeted with an Imbalu traditional act - to express courage and determination for the days ahead. Imbalu is the traditional, public male circumcision ceremony of the Bagisu (Bamasaba) people in eastern Uganda, marking the rite of passage from boyhood to manhood, usually celebrated with vibrant dancing, drumming (Kadodi), feasting, and community fanfare every even year. It is a deeply significant cultural event, emphasizing community identity and status, where circumcised males earn respect and a place in tribal life. Hey @elonmusk, as you cheer the fall of a dictator in Venezuela, here in Uganda your @Starlink has disabled citizens' access to its internet just days to the January 15th election in which we seek to peacefully end Museveni’s 40-year-old dictatorship! Like other dictators, Museveni has suffocated free expression, engaged in mass killings, brutally persecuted the opposition, and suppressed citizens' rights - among other atrocities. Please reactivate Starlink internet access in Uganda so that citizens can be able to communicate and stand a fair chance at shaping their destiny. Democracy dies in darkness!

Very sad to hear that Dr. Kizza Besigye's health has continued to deteriorate while in detention, having been denied access to proper medical care.
