BOBI WINE
Yesterday upon arrival in Mbale, we were greeted with an Imbalu traditional act - to express courage and determination for the days ahead. Imbalu is the traditional, public male circumcision ceremony of the Bagisu (Bamasaba) people in eastern Uganda, marking the rite of passage from boyhood to manhood, usually celebrated with vibrant dancing, drumming (Kadodi), feasting, and community fanfare every even year. It is a deeply significant cultural event, emphasizing community identity and status, where circumcised males earn respect and a place in tribal life. The National Unity Platform firmly believes in the promotion and protection of the cultural diversity that defines our country! #FreeUgandaNow
