OUR SPEECH UPON BEING NOMINATED TO CONTEST FOR PRESIDENT OF UGANDA 2026 - 2031: Fellow Ugandans and comrades in the struggle, I am deeply humbled and profoundly honored to accept your nomination to be the next President of the Republic of Uganda. Thank you for the trust you have continued to place in me since I first offered myself for the presidential office in 2021. Today, my heart is filled with a deep sense of responsibility to deliver on that trust. Together, we have been everywhere preaching the message of a New Uganda. And today, with this nomination, we start the final phase in our mission to freedom and true independence. Since our nation was born in 1962, every change of leadership has been written in blood. The blood and sacrifice of ordinary citizens of Uganda and yet the leaders who promise liberation have always delivered oppression. For 40 long years, one man and a small group of relatives and friends have ruled our country on gunpoint. They have looted the nation and turned every institution of government into a tool of oppression. They have reduced the citizens of Uganda into slaves on their own land. They have turned our poverty into a weapon of control. And yet, Uganda is not poor, Uganda is rich. Our land is fertile. Our people are hardworking and enterprising. We are rich in talent and creativity. We are resourceful, we’re energetic, we’re young and promising. Our country is one of the richest countries in terms of natural resources. So our problem is not lack of wealth. Our problem is LACK OF LEADERSHIP. Leadership that serves the people instead of exploiting them. Leadership that seeks to uplift citizens instead of enslaving them. Sisters and brothers, this is not the first time that we stand before you with a dream of a New Uganda. We made our first attempt five years ago in 2021. Hundreds of our comrades were illegally arrested and many are still in prison as we speak now. Many were tortured, many were killed while others went missing to the present day. And yet we refuse to give up! I know some of you are already asking: Why vote again after what happened in 2021? Why do we risk it, the teargas, the bullets, the prisons, the torture chambers and even death which is awaiting for us? My answer to you is this: We risk it all because the alternative is giving up and that’s 10 times worse. If we give up now; we shall have no moral authority to complain about what happens next. If we surrender now, that means that the fighting spirit Ritah Nabukenya, of Frank Senteza, of Yasin Kauma and many others has been defeated. It means they died in vain. It means betrayal of our comrades who have spent years in prison counting on us who are still 'free' to continue fighting for their freedom too. Therefore, No matter what happens, we must keep moving forward. Even if someone says the chance of winning is only 1% , WE MUST TAKE THE CHANCE and fight! We have always been telling you about the PROTEST VOTE and today, let me explain it in more detail. We have voted before, we have won before and we have been rigged before. But this election is not going to be your usual election. We are going into this election as a way of protesting against all the injustice that has happened to us for 40years. We are protesting and that that protest begins NOW! We must use this to election season to rally the people of Uganda to express their anger and their hope in the ballot box! We are going in this election to protest legally, constitutionally and NON VIOLENTLY. We must mobize the people of Uganda to come out vote in very large numbers; numbers too big to rig. We must lay different strategies and make different plans to ensure that we, the people of Uganda free ourselves in this season. To the Ugandans in the diaspora: You who send more than two billion dollars to Uganda every year, you're Uganda’s biggest investors. 1/4

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of our dear comrade and friend, Marinos Alexandros. Marinos was abducted on 30th March 2022 in Mbuya, subjected to incredible torture and raped by regime thugs at CMI, Mbuya. Her crime? Playing Bobi Wine's music on loud speakers! When she came out and exposed the thugs, she started receiving calls threatening to kill her. Her house was raided in the night by rogues, but she was not there that night, having slept at a friend's home. This prompted her to seek refuge in Nairobi - Kenya. Even in Kenya, regime thugs attempted to abduct her, forcing her to leave Nairobi and go to the UNHCR camp where she could have some security. Out of the abduction and torture ordeal, Marinos contracted several diseases, including HIV/AIDS. Last year, she became very sick and started getting treatment while we supported her. Because of the loneliness and other conditions in the refuge camp, she returned to Uganda a few weeks back in order to get better treatment in the presence of her family. It is most unfortunate that we have lost her this morning at 1:30am. Marinos joins hundreds of other victims of the Museveni regime of blood and terror. Fight on, comrade! The struggle for freedom and democracy in Uganda is poorer without you, but the evil regime will never have the last laugh.

They wondered how a young party like ours would place Ssegirinya above known politicians. But I stood my ground and told them I would never overturn the voice of the people, which was very clear. As we stand here today, I am very proud that we have been vindicated. In fact, we were vindicated in the first few months of Ssegirinya in Parliament. He immediately embarked on serving the people of Kawempe North with dedication. He invested in healthcare, in economic empowerment, in community service- responsibilities that should ordinarily fall on the shoulders of a functional government. But as we all know, we have an absent government, so leaders have to step in. He visited the sick, the poor and the hungry. Ssegirinya was a true representation of what we stand for as People Power- being the voice for the common person. He spoke for the boda-bodas, the market people, the downtrodden. It is this attitude that earned him so many friends, and enemies alike. Before long, the regime conspired with some politicians whom he repeatedly told us about. They arrested him, tortured him, and eventually sent him to his early grave. Like I said at our headquarters the other day, Ssegirinya did not enjoy even one day of his tenure as an MP. He has spent all his time as an MP either in prison or in hospital, until he gave up the fight. I hope Gen. Museveni feels proud of what he did to Ssegirinya! For the two years he was in jail, we asked the regime to prosecute them. To produce any evidence that they participated in the killings in Masaka. But the regime did not produce that evidence because it was not there! As you all recall, some of the young men, who the regime paraded as witnesses against them, boldly told court that they were paraded by the regime and told to lie that it was Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana who sent them to kill people in Masaka. At a subsequent hearing, they attempted to speak but were silenced. The judge who allowed them speak the first time was transferred and another brought. They were repeatedly denied bail, even when Ssegirinya presented all evidence that his life was going away. Gen. Museveni came out on TV condemning the grant of bail, thereby intimidating the judges. But as they say, they can only walk on your back when you bend it. Even those judges who repeatedly denied them bail are as oppressive as Museveni who detained them. If you're a judge worth your salt, Museveni would rather deny you a promotion, than you send Ssegirinya to an early grave. You would rather flee to exile like Justice Esther Kisakye, than be used as a tool of oppression. That is why we celebrate Chief Justice Ben Kiwanuka who was killed for staying true to his judicial oath. What happened to Uganda? Where are those judges who can still stand to defend the Constitution? Therefore, Ssegirinya joins the long list of prominent and ordinary Ugandans murdered by the Museveni regime. Some are murdered openly, others secretly. Some are murdered very quickly, others face slow painful deaths. Some are murdered with bullets, others with poison. Maama Ssegirinya joins the many parents who are grieving- their children murdered by the Museveni regime! You all saw her video leading a lone protest at Parliament, not once or twice. She came weeping, saying that her son's life was going away. But the regime did not care! Ssegirinya's children join the very long list of children orphaned by Museveni’s regime of blood. The prayers these little children will make every day before they sleep, will never let him have peace. The other day, while Museveni’s son was tweeting very shameful things on Twitter, a priest called me and asked me, "With all the atrocities he has committed, why are you surprised that God has chosen to punish him that way?" He told me that the tears, pain, and prayers of the orphaned children and the widowed mothers will always haunt Museveni and his family until they repent. 2/3
