Previously, Gen. Museveni blamed the problems of Kampala on elected leaders who were always from the opposition to his rule. As always, he came up with a law that took away the power of elected leaders and placed it in the hands of his hand-picked officials. He boasted that he had effectively captured the city. A decade later, things are worse. The residents of Kampala have to contend with terrible roads, sickening traffic jams, floods occasioned by poor drainage, a broken down healthcare and education infrastructure, and now the garbage crisis! A few weeks ago, dozens of our people were buried under garbage at Kiteezi. While over 30 bodies were recovered, more than 20 people are still missing, believed to be buried under the garbage. Without a feasible solution in sight, the citizens now have to contend with heaps of garbage piling up everywhere. All resulting from corruption, inefficiency, abuse of office and the blatant disregard for the common good. This is but a symptom of regime failure. Fix GOVERNANCE and you'll have things fixed.
This morning in Mbarara, we checked on Hon. Jolly Mugisha, the National Unity Platform Deputy President for Western Uganda. She was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Monday in a critical condition. Thankfully, the doctors have worked very hard to stabilize her condition and we are very delighted to see her make great improvement. Join us in praying for her quick and full recovery🙏🏿
Having returned to the country from international duty, this morning we visited the community of Kiteezi in Kyadondo East where dozens of citizens were left dead two weeks ago after garbage buried them. Pain and anxiety is still written on the faces of these residents who have to date not yet seen many of the bodies of their friends and relatives buried under the waste. We took along with us several items to assist them in this challenging time. In my address, I emphasized that this was not an accident, it was a completely avoidable tragedy, caused by the negligence and inefficiency of the regime and its institutions. May the souls of the deceased rest in peace, and may the injured recover fully and quickly.
This would be funny if it wasn't real! These words by Gen. Museveni's son, reminded me of a foolish, evil king, found in the Bible, 1 Kings Chapter 12. When the people, who were previously oppressed by his father came to him to request that he lightens their burdens, his response was: "But Rehoboam spoke harshly to the people, for he rejected the advice of the older counselors and followed the counsel of his younger advisers. He told the people, “My father laid heavy burdens on you, but I’m going to make them even heavier! My father beat you with whips, but I will beat you with scorpions!" Resultantly, the people rejected him and he reaped the fruits of his folly. For Gen. Museveni's son, this is not a mere threat. He has already proven that he is many times more brutal than his brutal father. He has already proven what he can do to those who disagree with him. In addition to many others, Kakwenza's back is a constant reminder of what he is capable of! It is entirely up to WE THE PEOPLE, to put an end to this humiliation, and oppression against the people of Uganda by Gen. Museveni and his family rule.

The true state of our nation summarised in these posts by Gen. Museveni's son whom he recently installed as commander of our armed forces! 1. He reveals that Museveni's son-in-law is the biggest thief in Uganda. By this, he confirms our constant condemnation of the nepotism and abuse of office by the Museveni regime. Just like himself, Rwabogo should never have had access to public resources if not for the family rule. 2. Also reveals that the mission to Somalia, in which Uganda has made great losses of its people, is largely profit-motivated. While Gen. Museveni keeps talking about it as a contribution to pacifying the region, his son is revealing its true intention. 3. Then justifies Mawanda's corruption because he is his friend. Asks why only his friends are held accountable for corruption yet others are also looting. He labels Mawanda a "political prisoner" - mocking hundreds of actual political prisoners detained by himself and his father Museveni for years. What did Ugandans do to Museveni to deserve this?
Successfully concluded the NUP Diaspora Convention 2024 in Chicago, USA. Thank you our comrades in America for keeping the fire burning 👊. Next, Canada! https://t.co/WeYzzUu56N
See how destiny keeps setting us up? Maybe one day we’ll take another selfie after I swear in as President 😁
Let me also appreciate the Ghetto People who always challenge me to challenge them. Over the past two decades, you guys have kept me on tenterhooks to be the best of my self and give my best energy to everything I do, because I know that by doing things right, I am inspiring millions of others. And yes, let today inspire you to know that you're never too late to pursue your dreams and achieve them. Such days usually come with mixed emotions for me. I know Maama would be so proud of me today. But I am comfortable in knowing that she is looking on from above with so much pride🙏🏿 Above all, I THANK GOD who has always seen me through every challenge; every hurdle! God is great! 2/2
The criminals abducted comrade Achileo Kivumbi on 1st August, and now say he was found with Lt. Col. military pips on 3rd August.....two days after he was 'arrested'. Shameless. Thoughtless. All these violations are evidence of how timid and scared they are of the people. WE SHALL OVERCOME!
Several youths arrested last month for protesting against corruption are posting on social media horrific stories saying they were tortured in detention by SP Joel Ntabu “Matsiko,” (@NtabuJ), the OC CID of Kampala Central Police Station. Apparently, SP Ntabu isolated some female protestors in a room, savagely assaulted and kicked them, threw them over furniture, and then dragged them through the police corridors. He is accused of intimidating concerned suspects who attempted to get them medication, boasting that the youth were lucky he hadn’t shot them dead! Another protestor says Matsiko tortured him so bad that the was unable to walk for the next several days. Last week, there were reports that some of the youth protestors were also raped in detention. All these allegations are deeply concerning. We hope the regime will feel some shame and take action, although we don’t expect much! #StopAbuseOfPowerUg
At first they labelled us 'hooligans' (bayaaye) to delegitimize our political opinions until we forced them to realize that we’re just as worthy human beings as they are. Now they claim to be one of us. Mujja kkakasa! https://t.co/NkNDaLfVKe
