In this video, Anita Among is basically suggesting that the MPs are indeed guilty of the crimes they're accused of, and that they are always justified to steal public funds if they invest their loot here in Uganda. More worryingly, she's also suggesting that dictator Museveni will reign in the judiciary to let the MPs off the hook. It's a pity!
Still in South Africa, I had an interaction with comrade Ugandans living in Cape Town and Pretoria concerning the struggle to defeat dictatorship back home in Uganda. I appreciated them for their contribution to this cause but also reminded them that it can only be sustained to its logical conclusion through the united, collective effort of everyone concerned instead of just a few individuals or leaders. Yesterday evening in Johannesburg, South Africa, we had a film screening of our Documentary, #BobiWineThePeoplesPresident. The event was attended by the Ugandan Diaspora, the Civil Society, Academics, political leaders and activists as well as the media fraternity. We had the opportunity first hand, to show to this audience the gross human rights violations meted out on the people of Uganda by the Museveni regime. I was delighted to share the stage with five other victims who told their moving stories. These included Monica Nabukeera (wife to Johnbosco Kibalama), Masereka Samuel (who was gravely tortured at CMI), Motiv Kasagga (who was also abducted and tortured), Ngoya Johnbosco (whose brother was murdered in Karamoja) and Sebuganda Richard (the Makerere student whose hand was shattered by a teargas canister thrown into his room). We shall spare no effort in exposing these violations to the world out there, so that people get to know the Museveni regime for what it truly is. Today in Terego District, we laid to rest comrade Aaron Amani, a son to the @NUP_Ug Deputy President Dr. Lina Zedriga. Aaron was a committed comrade who succumbed to injuries he sustained in a road accident last Friday. We thank fellow comrades and leaders in the struggle who have stood with Dr. Zedriga and her family during this very difficult time. We shall always remember Aaron for dedicating the last years of his life to the struggle for a better Uganda. May his soul rest in peace.
This evening at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Parish in Gayaza, we attended the requiem mass held in memory of comrade Aaron Amani who passed away yesterday. The late Amani is a son to our Deputy President, Dr. Lina Zedriga, who has shown extraordinary strength and resilience in the wake of her son's passing. May Amani's soul rest in eternal peace.
Very saddened this evening by the passing of comrade Aaron Amani, the second born of our Deputy President for Northern Region, Mama Lina Zedriga Waru. Aaron was involved in a road accident last Friday, and passed on this evening. We just checked on Mama Zedriga and we're amazed by her strength in the face of this tragedy. May Aaron's soul rest in eternal peace.

With great sadness, I have learnt of the untimely passing of our comrade Okwai James Wasoti aka Kabogo who has worked with our security team since the Kyadondo Parliamentary campaign in 2017. When we started the People Power Movement and eventually NUP, he took over as head of the gate security, a duty he has held until yesterday. It is a very, very painful day at the National Unity Platform. May his soul rest in peace.
Exactly five years ago, tyrant Gen. Museveni's regime abducted and disappeared Johnbosco Kibalama. They took him away on Martyrs Day in 2019, leaving these young children fatherless. We shall never stop demanding to know his whereabouts, and the whereabouts of other disappeared Ugandans. As we commemorate this day, may we be encouraged by the words of SOREN Kierkegaard - "A tyrant dies, and his rule ends. A martyr dies, and his rule begins.”
Yesterday, we got an overwhelming reception from the people of Greater Masaka sub-region to whom we went to share the revolutionary message as part of our #NUPCountryWideTour2. Masaka has played a significant role — and paid a heavy price — in Uganda's political history since it's establishment as a township in the 1950s. It was a battleground in the 1970s, especially in 1979 when the Tanzanian army bombed to the ground most of its infrastructure as they drove Iddi Amin from power. From September to December 1985, dictator Museveni’s rebels laid siege on and eventually captured Masaka from the UNLA forces, which paved the way for Kampala's eventual collapse one month later in January 1986. Masaka is the capital of Buganda Kingdom, and has produced many great men and women that have gone on to shape the Uganda we know today especially in business, politics and entertainment. Yet, despite its geographical location and historic significance to Uganda, Greater Masaka and its people have nothing but pain and exploitation to show for it. There are clear indications that the Museveni regime is determined to keep this region subjugated and undeveloped, and its people impoverished and fearful for their lives. Once a hub for Uganda's lucrative coffee industry, Masaka is a shadow of its former self. The regime has enacted laws that generally prohibit anyone from growing, selling or adding value to coffee without authorisation. Considering how it has ring-fenced all top foreign exchange earning industries in Uganda, such as fishing and minerals, it is apparent that the NRA regime's ultimate intention is not to regulate the coffee industry for the benefit of the citizens who depend on it for their survival, but rather to drive them out of it for the benefit of Museveni and his close allies. No wonder, the same regime is now also going after the lucrative ensenene (grasshopper) and enswa (white ants) businesses that Masaka's people are reputed for. The people of Masaka are yet to get answers about who was behind the machete-wielding assailants who hacked to death their relatives in the serial killings of 2021, 2017 and 2013. Neither do they have answers for the abduction of many of their children around the 2021 presidential election who are still missing to date. I emphasized to the people of Masaka that contrary to narratives being peddled by the regime through certain media houses, there is no rift within our Party. Although we may occasionally have divergent viewpoints, we have only common one enemy — dictator Museveni — who continues to preside over our oppression and the theft of our country's resources. We must urgently reclaim Uganda and build a Government that cares for all; a Government that not only recognises but also fulfils its cardinal duty of subsidising life for the citizens from whom it derives its mandate. #PeoplePowerOurPower
