UPDATE: Here is our adjusted program for Mukono, Masaka and Mityana districts. The Police claimed that the venues we had initially booked are not convenient, even when other political groups have been using them. They even declined us using the Liberation Square in Masaka City which has been hosting most political events. Anyway, in the greater interest of ensuring that our events happen successfully, we have made these adjustments and secured new venues. We hope they will not come up with other excuses. So here we go — Mukono (Wednesday), Masaka (Friday) and Mityana (Tuesday next week)! #NUPNationwideTour2 #PeoplePowerOurPower
In the face of grave danger and intimidation, it is the love and solidarity of our people that keep us going! On our return to Kampala we were overwhelmed by the people who braved teargas to wave at us and give us words of encouragement! WE SHALL OVERCOME! #PeoplePowerOurPower https://t.co/iO9LUncv3m
The journey from Kampala to Kamuli was thorny but the people of Busoga braved the intimidation. They won't spend our money on hospitals and schools but on stocking teargas, bullets and other tools of repression. PALLISA HERE COME! #NUPCountryWideTour2 https://t.co/4vDJhfELxd
We were in Lwengo District yesterday for the burial of my longtime friend Paskali Ssekasamba who passed away from the UK. In my speech, I emphasized the need to stay united and lead by good example in our struggle against dictatorship. I wish my friend Paskali a peaceful rest. https://t.co/8au4G3JKXM
"Everyone who betrays the people’s struggle will get their due reward. Using tax payers’ money; our money, Museveni will definitely bribe so many people, including men of honor, to do very shameless things. But our faith is not in the political class. Our faith is in the people of Uganda." ~ Bobi Wine, 17th September, 2020
This cartoon aptly captures the sickening double standards by Gen. Museveni and his criminal regime. While our people are hounded everyday, abducted, arrested and tortured for putting on the #PeoplePower attire, those who subscribe to the regime are left to put on real military uniforms without consequence! Many times, they are even given state security. Make no mistake - this is not a sign that they are strong. This is a SIGN THAT WE ARE STRONG. It is a sign of how much they fear WE THE PEOPLE. And yes, the day WE THE PEOPLE fully understand OUR POWER, it will be game over for the dictator and those who work for him. 📸 Spire #PeoplePowerOurPower
Very honored that our documentary film 'Bobi Wine: The People's President' has won yet another prestigious global award — this time in the Documentary category of the @PeabodyAwards' 84th Edition! We are grateful for every opportunity that helps us expose to the global community dictator Museveni’s previously hidden atrocities against the people of Uganda. We continue calling upon the international community to isolate and sanction all Museveni regime officials involved in perpetrating such gross human rights violations against Ugandans over the past four decades.
This short documentary film by @AfricanIIJ shows how dictator Museveni's agents Frank Mwesigwa and Enock Abaine commanded the shooting of journalists covering the 2021 presidential campaigns. The two 'police officers' nearly ended the life of journalist Ashraf Kasirye in two separate incidents. Even with all this evidence, the shameless officers claim that the journalists framed them “because they wanted to get asylum”. Instead of being arrested for these crimes, after the campaigns, Frank Mwesigwa was promoted to Senior Commissioner of Police and Enock Abaine was promoted to Commissioner of Police. It is this impunity that makes sanctions inevitable! We want the @IntlCrimCourt to indict such criminals because the Museveni regime's systems always protect them. #FreeAllPoliticalPrisonersinUganda #BringBackOurPeople
This is to appreciate all of you friends and comrades who stood with us today at our ancestral home in Gomba as we bid farewell to our dear sister Nakyonyi Dorothy. Mwebale nnyo Banange, mwatuwoze ebbanja. May her soul rest in peace. https://t.co/Da9pJEyzjU
Delighted earlier to interact with Comrade Nsamba Lubega, the recently elected Guild President of Makerere University, alongside his team and the leadership of our Institutions Team. I congratulated them upon this victory but charged them not to lose the ball, or lose sight of the grand mission for the liberation of our people. Historically, university students have played a defining role in revolutions for liberation, and Uganda is no exception if there is a clear message and proper organization. I also tasked these leaders to always speak for and on behalf of the students, more so those who come from poor families. #PeoplePowerOurPower
