Earlier, addressed the nation on the abduction of comrade Eddie Mutwe, Mpalanyi Michael, Ssentongo Shakur and Daniel Nsambu who are still missing! These are in addition to the many other comrades who have been abducted and dumped after weeks, months or years. Also, addressed the criminality of the regime in blocking our legitimate party activities. The persecution only confirms how strong we are. We should only strengthen ourselves and keep moving! Later on, we met with comrades from the Kenya @NUP_Ug Diaspora Chapter who came to Uganda on an official visit. We discussed various matters of great importance. I appreciated them for the great work they do and promised to visit them soon. #PeoplePowerOurPower
The partisan regime police is moving to block our weekly press conference slated for tomorrow, at which we had planned to launch our mobilization for the forthcoming youth elections. We condemn and protest these double standards in the strongest terms possible, and call upon all Ugandans to firmly resist them!
Today, we were very delighted to host @NUP_Ug leaders from Buganda Region for a training on resilience in the face of tyranny. We discussed several matters of great national importance. Most importantly, we charged them to go back to their respective areas and organise our people for the #ProtestVote2026. I must say that I am super energised by the passion and enthusiasm. Although the partisan police blocked our similar events in Western and Northern regions, we made a strong protest note and hope to visit these regions soon. #PeoplePowerOurPower
It pains all of us that you're celebrating your birthday while in detention, and yet this is only part of the heavy price you have paid for a better country since your youthful days. May God grant that you live long enough to see a FREE UGANDA for which you have made these incredible sacrifices. Happy birthday Dr. @kizzabesigye1.
Very glad to spend Easter Monday with our comrade Foot Soldiers from various districts of Uganda. Hosted them for lunch at Magere to specifically appreciate them for the great work they do to advance the cause of freedom and democracy! #PeoplePowerOurPower https://t.co/656pPbXYU7
I join the world in mourning the Holy Father, Pope Francis, who passed away this morning. May the reforms he championed continue making the world a better place! https://t.co/9tdvGIT4Qu
For simply driving a car branded with the National Unity Platform colors in Mubende on the day dictator Museveni was in the district, our comrades Kyeyune Pafuladito and Kakooza Damasen were violently removed from their car by SFC soldiers yesterday, arrested and detained at Mubende police up to now! A criminal regime seized with so much fear. Stay strong comrades. Our struggle will end in victory! #FreeAllPoliticalPrisonersinUganda
Following our very successful @NUP_Ug leaders' convention in Mbale, the partisan police have yet again blocked our engagements in Western Uganda and Northern Uganda! Today we were meant to be in Bushenyi meeting our leaders there, while Gulu was scheduled for next week. While they block our events, Museveni and his criminal enterprise have been moving around the country campaigning- holding rallies and processions. Before this new blockade, they had put a blanket ban on our nationwide mobilise tours. Of course the regime is doing all this out of panic and fear. On our part, we shall continue to mobilise, organise and agitate. Our struggle will end in victory! #FreeUganda
https://t.co/rXwtXoWW1N While in London, I had an in depth interview with Martine Dennis about our cause. Please watch it here
We gathered at Kavule this morning to welcome new members into the National Unity Platform. Among the new members are leaders who have been subscribing to other political parties previously, as well as some representatives to cultural institutions. I have used the occasion to once again condemn the 100M cash bribe the regime has given to MPs to amend the UPDF Act and drag civilians back into military courts for trial. These amendments are politically motivated and brought in bad faith with the intention of overturning the Supreme Court's decision of January 31 blocking the prosecution of civilians and dictator Museveni’s opponents in army courts. Each year, the regime lends each of Uganda's 10,717 Parishes a total 100 MILLION to fight poverty under the so-called 'Parish Development Model'. This money is given to each Parish regardless of its population, to be paid back with a 6% interest! It's disturbing that while thousands of citizens in beneficiary parishes struggle to share the 100 million, a single MP pocketed the same amount to betray them. We commend the over 70 MPs who have since signed a Resolution condemning this act of high treason against the people. We challenge them to take a step further and strongly speak out in public against this theft. We also call upon the public to isolate every MP who took a share of this loot, and extract from them the ultimate price at the next election. On our end as the NUP, if we get evidence that any of our MPs in NUP took this money, we shall take a firm stand against you, no matter who you are, the same way we have dealt with those who stole before you. We continue to demand for the release of the hundreds of our comrades like Bobi Young, Machete Yasin, and Kalanzi Sharif who remain under illegal detentention 3 months after the Supreme Court decision stopping their trials in army courts. We equally demand for the unconditional release of our brothers and sisters from Karamoja who find themselves in similar circumstances.
This morning in Mbale City, we met with the @NUP_Ug leaders from the 40 districts which make up Eastern Uganda. These leaders came from Busoga, Bugisu, Teso, Bukedi and Sebei Sub-regions. This engagement was aimed at training and launching these teams to go on ground and mobilise, organise and agitate for the revolution. We charged them to be resilient in the face of so much intimidation. Driven by hope, we shall get there! Very energised by their enthusiasm and passion. #PeoplePowerOurPower
We joined thousands of people at a thanksgiving mass for His Majesty Ssabasajja Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi at Lubaga Cathedral. We thank God for the glorious 70 years of His Majesty and pray for many more years of good health and wisdom as he leads his people. Agunde gunde Omuterega, Magulunyondo!
Congratulations, comrade @lucky_ariho, upon your victory as Guild President of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST)! Thank you for carrying the @NUP_Ug flag with courage and pride. Now that you have won, please be on your guard against the many traps that will be laid for you to betray the people's struggle for freedom. I charge you to remain vigilant at all times! Thank you too, our team in Western Uganda led by Deputy President Jolly Jacklyn Tukamushaba, and the NUP Institutions team, for this great result! #PeoplePowerOurPower
Comrade Namakwa Silaji, aka Young Virus, is a local musician and in charge of publicity on the @NUP_Ug mobilization team in Namisindwa District. He was violently picked up by heavily armed men on Monday night from his home in Lwakhakha town. He was briefly taken to the local police station and then driven off in a drone to an unknown destination. His whereabouts remain unknown. Yesterday, our comrade Kimera Ibrah aka Miguna Miguna, an ardent supporter and mobiliser of NUP in Masaka was also violently abducted from Kyabakuza in Masaka and driven off in a black drone to an unknown destination. His whereabouts remain unknown. The criminal regime is intensifying abductions as we approach the election. They're doing this to scare and intimidate our people, but they're giving us more reason to fight to put an end to the criminality of Museveni and his clique of oppressors. #StopAbuseOfPowerUg #FreeUganda
Very saddened to learn of the passing of Mzee Azabo Kelil Kasua who has been an instrumental @NUP_Ug co-ordinator in West Nile. Mzee Kelil has been mobilising the retired service persons in the region. Sad that he has passed without seeing the kind of better country he struggled for. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
This afternoon, we checked on our Deputy President for Northern Uganda, Dr. @linazed2 who has been sickly for some time. Thankfully, she is recovering quite well, and still as committed to the cause as ever. We continue to pray for her full and quick recovery. https://t.co/dRZqFHTmMz
