Today is a happy day in our home. Warm congratulations to one of our special employees, friend and family member-Higenyi Sherif. A security guard by night, gardener by day, and student by weekend. He graduates today from Kampala International University. Thank you for making us proud and for being an inspiration to many other Ugandans who seek self development amidst challenging circumstances. May Allah reward your hard work and discipline and may he answer all your prayers. Congratulations again.

Today at our Head Office at Kavule, we received 459 new members into the National Unity Platform. These comrades who are mostly leaders at various levels came from the Northern, Eastern and Central regions of Uganda. Majority of them are coming from the NRM and some other parties which the criminal regime has since captured. Ever since we moved around the nation awakening our people, we have been overwhelmed by the numbers of Ugandans who want to join us and we are very humbled by this. Our leadership teams will be moving around the country to receive these new members. I welcomed them to NUP and the People Power Movement, and encouraged them to work very hard to advance the cause. I also reminded all Ugandans to focus all our energies on demanding for the return of our abducted comrades as well as for the release of all political prisoners! #BringBackOurPeople #PeoplePowerOurPower

In our struggle for freedom and democracy, you may not be perfect in everything you do to cause change but anything you do must be in good faith and with the best of intentions. https://t.co/o0nw2sMioV

As we congratulate H.E. Joseph Boakai on his victory as President-elect of Liberia, we also join the world in appreciating and commending President George Weah for displaying the kind of statesmanship so rare on the African continent. He has not sought to illegally hold onto power like many do and indeed graciously conceded and accepted the outcome of the polls. You Sir, have earned yourself a place amongst African noble statesmen and set a great example. I hope other African leaders can draw lessons and appreciate that people must not die and nations collapse in the name of them holding onto power.

Yesterday, while we commemorated three years since the gruesome murder of our people between 18th and 19th November, 2020 we paid a courtesy call on distinguished citizen and eminent Human Rights lawyer, Ladislaus Rwakafuzi. He still needs our collective support as he struggles to recover from a severe stroke that hit him over four years ago. We continue to pray for a quick and full recovery.

Earlier today as we prayed for and remembered our comrades who were murdered in cold blood between 18th and 19th November, 2020. We also took time to pray for all the dead, detained and disappeared citizens. If dictator Museveni thought that he would commit these crimes and we simply move on, he must understand that we shall not keep silent or give up the demand for accountability. #BringBackOurPeople #M7NovMassacreUg

On 18th and 19th November, 2020 so many citizens were murdered on Gen. Museveni's orders. These included ordinary citizens - women, men and children who were going about their business. Three years later, there has been no accountability whatsoever! Instead, the criminal regime has continued to violate human rights with impunity. And so today we shall gather with families of our deceased, detained and disappeared people to hold special prayers as we remember them. One day, God willing, the regime will account for every crime committed against our people. #M7NovMassacreUg #BringBackOurPeople

Yesterday and today mark 3 years since the 18th & 19th November 2020 massacre. That day, operatives on clear orders from Mr. Museveni shot dead over 100 [by some accounts up to 300] citizens in cold blood. Today as we remember and commemorate our sisters and brothers who were murdered for no reason, let's also reflect on these families whose loved ones were abducted and are still missing. I appreciate our Parliamentary team for not only protesting, but also taking time to visit and profile these families. Eventually, there will be accountability for these crimes against humanity! 1. Every struggle has unsung heroes, and ours has been no exception from day one. I will highlight two of them today. In July last year when we unveiled the land at Kavule, we had acquired only two plots there. Of course we took the regime by surprise and they immediately panicked. One of their immediate responses was to approach two neighbors who owned buildings in front of our land and asked to buy them. Apparently they wanted to station security operatives there to monitor our operations, like they have done around my home in Magere where they have bought off several neighboring houses and plots and stationed operatives there. Certainly if the regime had bought those two buildings, we would have been incapacitated to do much on the land we had acquired, because they would literally be seeing everything going on at our offices! The regime offered much more money than we had. But guess what? These two individuals (names withheld) stood their ground and refused to sell to the regime because they believed in our cause. "Abantu n'abagambaki?" one of them- an old man asked. They chose to be patient, withstanding so much pressure until we got the money to pay them. One of them had to lie to the people who were approaching him constantly that we had already paid a deposit, even when we had not. Those are the two buildings you see at the front, which we remodeled into offices. Those two individuals, ladies and gentlemen, are indeed unsung heroes of our cause! Of course we went ahead to purchase another building which was residential and now houses several offices, as well as another vacant plot- giving us a total of six plots. (As we said at the launch, most of the titles have already been transferred into NUP and the remaining ones are in the pipeline). I thought it's important to highlight that many people out there may not stand at the frontline, but they are in the background making sacrifices and doing good things for their country!

I want to appreciate our legal team in the UK for the relentless fight and our NUP/People Power diaspora comrades for constantly raising our voice through protests as well as knocking on different doors. Their main argument has been that it is unfair to open their doors for Gen. Museveni, a world renowned tyrant and yet continue to shut the door for me who, together with many others are trying to build a free and democratic country. I am very glad to inform you that the ban against me from entering the UK has finally been overturned, and I will soon be visiting the UK after more than 10 years.

In the beginning of the #PeoplePower struggle, the regime dismissed us as just a bunch of excited hooligans riding on a wave that would soon pass. Today, barely 2½ years since the fraudulent 2021 election, we have launched the new Headquarters of our struggle; the new home of the @NUP_Ug & the People Power movement. These headquarters have been paid for with the lives and blood of our comrades whom dictator Museveni has tortured, maimed and murdered through the past 3 years for calling out his oppression. So, more than just being our new headquarters, they are a monument of all those comrades who have with their life paid the ultimate price for the rest of us to live free. Comrades like Yasin Kawuma; Ritah Nabukenya, Francis Ssenteza, Dan Kyeyune, Hakim Ssekamwa, and many others who now exist only in our memories. These headquarters are an imposing monument of the sacrifices of all those who carried the torch of freedom and democracy long before us; the likes of Dr. @kizzabesigye1, Dr. Kawanga Ssemogerere, and many others. I thank our team at Parliament and other leaders on whose account we have received the resources we needed to achieve this. I also thank our Secretary General comrade @DavidLRubongoya and your team at the Secretariat who have toiled day and - literally - night to make our dream of these new headquarters a reality. In a special way, I want to thank comrade Dr. for gracefully accepting to attend and speak at the launch as our chief guest. The heavy sacrifices you have made for the last 20+ years in pushing back against Mr. Museveni’s dictatorship are the reason many of us felt challenged and inspired to equally rise up against the Museveni tyranny. In the same measure, thank you Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, Hon. Miria Matembe, Counsel Nicholas Opiyo, Mr. Saddam Gayira, Mr. Harold Kaija and other distinguished guests for sparing time to stand in solidarity with us today. We are truly humbled.

The paranoid dictator Museveni let the military loose on the population thinking that that will keep him longer in power. Overworked but poorly paid, these men and women in uniform are as frustrated, angry and hungry as the rest of ordinary citizens. It's not surprising that they have they've resorted to crime — and it will only get worse!
