Saddened by the death of 16-year-old student Joshua Leon Otim, who has today succumbed to the extensive injuries he sustained last Saturday when police and military officers aided by gangs in plain clothes holding machetes and sticks attacked and flogged us and our supporters as we attempted to campaign in Gulu city. Otim's death underscores the ongoing complicity of the Electoral Commission and all other State institutions mandated to ensure a credible, free and fair electoral process. We extend our sincere sympathies to his family and friends, and demand prompt justice against all those responsible for his death. #FreeUganda
It’s now 7:00pm and it’s past campaign time, but we’re still held at the road block by the police and military just a few meters away from what would have been our campaign venue in Fort Portal. Since 3pm when we were stopped here, no other vehicle – be it an ambulance – has been allowed through to go either side. We do not know what they intend to do to us.

We have been held for over an hour in the middle of the road to our rally venue which is just less than 10 minutes away. The criminal regime police prefers us to use alternative rural routes which may take us 2 hours to the venue. Previously we encountered numerous blockades on our journey to Bunyangabu District which made it difficult for us to reach to our people on scheduled time. We remain entrapped in the middle of the road to Kabarole as campaign time nears expiry. #FreeUganda
They’ve again blocked the road to Kabarole to bar us from reaching our people at the venue. We know the regime wants us to relent but we are not anywhere close to that point. #FreeUganda #ProtestVote2026 #PeoplePowerOurPower https://t.co/our9b1tGWQ
Blocked by the regime police. They do not want us to proceed to Bunyangabu for our scheduled campaign. Even earlier a couple of hours back, they barricaded the road to Fort Portal and blocked us from Kyenjojo town. What they don’t know is that we are not about to give up! #ANewUgandaNow #ProtestVote2026 #PeoplePowerOurPower
