Despite the day of extreme repression and brutality, I am very grateful to the people of GULU CITY for turning up to listen to the message of FREEDOM. RDCs have spent this whole week on radio stations intimidating people, lying to them that our visit was postponed, etc in order to demobilise our rally. Whereas many feared to come out and others were dispersed before our arrival, there are those who withstood the criminality and came out to show solidarity. Apwoyo matek! #FreeUgandaNow
This is what Museveni and his fellow criminals are doing to the people of Uganda. Earlier this week, the military attacked and vandalised our office in Gulu City. This morning, they deployed goons who started beating up our people. In the afternoon, they raided the venue for our campaign rally, beat up our people, vandalised our sound system, and stole several items. Those beaten include one of our drivers who is yet to regain consciousness. As we approached Gulu City, these criminals in police and military uniform attacked us with sticks and stones and started beating up our people. One of the thugs hit me with a stick on the face. Dan Magic was hit on the head. Several comrades are hospitalised. All this because Museveni is dead scared of the people. NO AMOUNT OF BRUTALITY WILL SAVE HIM FROM AN INEVITABLE FALL. NO AMOUNT OF BRUTALITY WILL STOP THE PEOPLE OF UGANDA FROM FIGHTING FOR THEIR FREEDOM. #FreeUgandaNow

Vandalizing our property at the rally venue seems to have not been enough for the regime and its criminal elements. They have also denied us access to our campaign venue and deployed all sorts of war machinery. Some of my campaign team members have been beaten in this scuffle! #FreeUgandaNow
A few moments back, regime hired goons protected by the military attacked our rally venue in Gulu. They've beaten up our people, vandalised our stage and sound system and stolen the amplifier and laptop! The driver for one of our vehicles was beaten so badly - it is not clear if he will survive. All this, as the police and military looked on - and in fact encouraged this criminality. This is what Museveni has turned Uganda into!!! Either way, we're proceeding to Gulu! #FreeUgandaNow
