We are deeply concerned by the disappearance of Mr. Charles Bukenya 'Muvawala,' a citizen of the United States hailing from Uganda. His family says he was abducted by gunmen from Nakulabye, Kampala, around 01:00 AM today morning while on a visit to Uganda. Muvawala is the Vice President of the Ugandan North American Association (UNAA), an organization that brings together Ugandans in the US. He is also a former member of Bakayimbira dramactors and a former presenter of the 'Binsangawano' show on Radio Simba. At the time of his abduction, he sent a message indicating that operatives had come for him. Given the recent spate of abductions targeting opposition-leaning Ugandans, we know that this too is the handiwork of the cowardly Museveni regime. We demand for his immediate release from illegal detention or his swift arraignment in courts of law IF he committed any offence. We also call upon all Ugandans in the diaspora to exercise extra vigililance while in Uganda because the regime, in its last days, has gone completely insane. No matter what comes our way, we shall overcome! #FreeAllPoliticalPrisonersUganda #BringBackOurPeople

This afternoon, Mbabazi Passy, the @NUP_Ug Registrar for Ishaka-Bushenyi was arraigned before a Magistrate and remanded to Nyamushekyera Prison for two weeks. She will return to Court on the 19th of March. What are the charges? By making a video criticizing Museveni's recent tour to the West and condemning the raid on our headquarters, the regime claims she promoted hate speech against dictator Museveni and his brutal son! Well, I spoke to her on phone and was glad to note that she is very strong. She was interrogated about why she mobilised for our visit to Bushenyi a few months back during the nationwide tour. She was asked who she works with in mobilising for change. They asked what offer she needs from them in order to rejoin them and stop working for us. The RDC warned her to stop promoting the opposition in Bushenyi or face worse consequence! Very grateful to our leaders who went to Bushenyi to stand in solidarity with her. WE SHALL OVERCOME!
