These 12 @NUP_Ug comrades have been violently arrested today in Kitgum District, as they met at a hotel to prepare for our planned visit to the district! They're spending the night at Kitgum Central Police Station. Charges? Holding an unlawful assembly! You can imagine the madness. The criminal regime, seized with panic, is in overdrive trying to sow fear amongst our people, but they will never succeed in breaking our collective resolve! #FreeUganda
Very saddened by the death of comrade Damalie Musiime who has been a staunch and reliable mobiliser of the @NUP_Ug especially in Eastern Uganda. I send my sincere condolences to her family, fellow comrades, and the country at large for losing such a patriot. Her burial is taking place in Bugiri District, where I am being represented by Deputy President Mama Lina Zedriga and many other comrades. May her gentle soul rest in peace🙏
