It has been a long walk, and the trail ahead is still deep and demanding. Yet I am glad that the message of change has reached every corner of our land. We can now see the rays of light from a distance, and soon we shall walk into that light with our heads held higher. Thank you once again, Mable City, for your resilience and unwavering courage! #ProtestVoteUG | 15th Jan 2026

When I spoke with Dr. @SarahBireete on phone this morning, she already knew that the intention of the regime was to keep her in detention until after elections! It is therefore not surprising that she's been remanded till the 21st of January, six days after the election! Her interrogators told her that she's been spreading poisonous words by exposing the flaws in the Voters' Register, telling people to defy illegal directives regarding our use of the National Flag, as well as the illegal directives to leave polling stations after voting. Just like comrade Waiswa, the regime cannot afford to have some of the most outspoken people out there educating the masses about their rights, at such a critical time! They prefer to keep people in the dark - BUT IT IS NO LONGER WORKING. We're an awakened generation. The kind of ridiculous charge placed on her shows that these criminals understand the extent of inconsistencies in the Voter Register, reason why they're going for citizens who have tried to expose them. She also revealed to us that majority of the credible organisations have been denied accreditation to observe the elections in Kampala and Wakiso - a red flag for potential delays in delivering electoral materials, voter suppression or outright ballot stuffing, violence and other forms of rigging! We stand in solidarity with Dr. Bireete. Other than dampen our spirits, let these violations give us more reason to fight on until we regain our freedom. UGANDA WILL BE FREE! #FreeUgandaNow #FreeSarahBireete
Concluded our first campaign rally in Mbale City and we are now headed to our next venue. The people of Bamasabaland have boldly made a great statement and commitment to our protest vote agenda. Thank you Mbale. Mwanyala Nabi! #ANewUgandaNow #ProtestVote2026 #PeoplePowerOurPower https://t.co/lvjvz6lCGn

Mbale Mulembe! Mwanyala Nabe. We are back to Bamasabaland and this is the warm reception we have encountered despite the regime police hostility witnessed as we entered Mbale Industrial City! #ANewUgandaNow #ProtestVote2026 #PeoplePowerOurPower https://t.co/KSb9yFQMcn
URGENT: I've learnt from security cicrles of a plot by the desperate regime to have me arrested before polling day in order to create a pre-emptive massacre akin to what they did in November 2020. That way, they will be able to carry out massive arrests and abductions and get justification to deploy the military in every spot. Among other plans, is for that brutal police officer called Bravo to provoke a confrontation in Mbale City or the neighbouring districts so that they get the justification. The other plan is to deploy goons, dress them in our Party colors, and project us as violent. We urge our people to remain peaceful and non-violent BUT VERY ASSERTIVE. #FreeUgandaNow
“To the young people in ghettos, towns, villages, markets, schools, universities, on boda boda stages, in the diaspora, and anywhere else you may be: you remain the heartbeat of this struggle. Like I have always said, an awakened generation that refuses to be bought, silenced, or divided can never be defeated. In 2026, you must maintain your discipline, and remain united and committed to non-violent struggle, even when provoked. But you must also take comfort in your right to self-defence, because there is no dignity in taking an unfair beating lying down if one can fight back. In any case, Article 3 of our Constitution grants you unconditional immunity for any action you may take in defence of the Constitution,” part of my New Year Address #ANewUgandaNow #ProtestVote2026 #PeoplePowerOurPower

“Brothers and sisters, let this New Year mark a turning point in our country. Let fear be replaced by courage. Let the power return to its rightful citizens, the people of Uganda. We reject dictatorship, corruption and all who want to steal our future and we declare with one voice that Uganda shall be FREE not by bullet but by the unbreakable will of the citizens of Uganda and that is US. May this year of 2026 be a year when the curtain finally goes down with dictatorship forever,” part of my New Year address #ANewUgandaNow #ProtestVote2026 #PeoplePowerOurPower
