For using social media to expose the abuse of human rights, corruption, abuse of power, oppression of lower ranking officers and other evils within the Uganda Prisons Service, officer Ampe Lawrence has been rewarded with a dismissal! Meanwhile, in complete violation of the law, other security officers especially in the military routinely appear on the media expressing partisan support for the Museveni dictatorship yet they never face any disciplinary action. Instead, many get rewarded with promotions. This contrast tells you all you need to know about the system of oppression that the @NUP_Ug government will be purposed to dismantle once in power. In the New Uganda, we shall build a professional, non-partisan security sector that respects and applies the law equally. We shall build a Uganda that hears and protects patriotic public servants like Ampe instead of hounding them out of their jobs for choosing integrity over 'safety'.
