Earlier today, we visited political prisoners who are detained at Kigo Prison, some for years and others for several months. We were able to see comrades Angulibo Siraj, Andama Hamza, Agodri Godfrey , Kizito Issa, Buga Ratib, Ida Kassim and Gordon Muzale, a pastor who was very critical of the regime before they abducted him, tortured him and eventually charged him with hate speech. Others such as Angulibo and Andama were the @NUP_Ug coordinator in Yumbe District, West Nile. Regime operatives abducted them and charged them with possession of ammunition before the military court. Despite the Supreme Court ruling outlawing military trials of civilians, these comrades remain detained without trial. Many others are languishing there over the politically motivated charges relating to 'offensive communication'. This very day of our visit, our brother Madubara was appearing before the court in Entebbe, defending himself for apparently offending Museveni and his son through his social media posts. Sometimes the oppression is overwhelming, but we must never lose hope. Our struggle will end in victory. #FREEUGANDA

My family and I are saddened by the news of the death of Professor Dr GW Kanyeihamba. Our hearts go to the family and friends of the late, great pillar of constitutionalism in Uganda and Africa. May the lord strengthen you through this tough time. Rest in Glory Prof. https://t.co/Dlw0rM8qOk
