UPDATE Last night, the military surrounding our home in Magere once again forced themselves into the house. They’re now fully occupying our entire home – INSIDE, outside, and around it. We are still unable to assess the extent of the destruction caused to the house when they first broke it and vandalised it on 23rd January. Neither have we been able to take stock of what items and documents the armed men seized from the house, since none of our family members has ever been allowed to access it since the attack happened.

Meanwhile, my two Party deputy presidents for Western and Northern Uganda are still missing, having been abducted by the military on the 14th and 15th, respectively. Apparently Museveni’s son has ordered the military not to produce them before court or return them to their families until he says so. Despite having been abducted in the presence of witnesses and even recorded on camera, the regime has filed court documents denying knowledge of their whereabouts. This is very urgent because these leaders could suffer the same fate as our 18 supporters who were forcefully disappeared in the last election and are missing to date. This is the STATE OF UGANDA in 2026. The world must not look on as these shocking atrocities persist. #FreeUgandaNow

Here is a picture of my wife shared by Museveni’s son and head of our nation's military, Muhoozi Kainerugaba. When soldiers on his orders raided our home, they made her to sit down, put her on gunpoint to reveal her phone passwords and my whereabouts, assaulted her, and eventually tore her nightdress shirt while filming. It was only after her blood pressure rose, and she became unconscious that these thugs left her, before she was rushed to hospital. Like she narrated, these criminals were filming everything and definitely sending them to their deranged boss! Barbie is strong and appreciates all of you who have reached out with messages of strength and solidarity, as she tries to recover from the trauma. Indeed, when she swore for better for worse, she never imagined these thugs placing their filthy hands on her. But it happened, and she took it with grace. She courageously confronted the criminals and refused to surrender despite the violence. Meanwhile, our home remains occupied by the military as they try to hunt me down. No one is allowed to access my home, not even family members trying to deliver basic needs like food. In all this, we remain encouraged by our undying faith that UGANDA WILL BE FREE. Despite the ongoing unjustified manhunt by the criminal regime, I am grateful to the common people who I meet daily for trying to shield me and keep me safe. Yesterday as I travelled to Gomba District to pay a visit to our home and check on my relatives, I passed by many roadblocks mounted on different roads. The inconvenience on road users is terrible. I advise the regime to stop looking for me - I will resurface at an appropriate time. The best they would do is to peacefully relinquish power and let the people of Uganda decide their own destiny. Short of that, they will face the inevitable fate of all despots before them. #FreeUgandaNow

Museveni's criminal son is still looking for me and issuing threats to harm me. Thankfully, our people are still keeping me safe. My wife is still recovering from the trauma of an overnight raid and assault. Thousands of our people have been violently arrested and detained. My home is still surrounded by the military. Several of our supporters have been murdered in cold blood. All because we challenged Dictator Museveni in an election in which he faced a resounding rejection across the country. He had to shut down the internet and declare himself 'winner' on gunpoint. We remain committed to freeing our nation from these savage criminals. Hundreds of soldiers descended on our home in Magere last night. Most were dressed in SFC uniforms while others were in regular UPDF uniforms and others in plain clothes. Many of them were drunk. They came with ladders, ready to climb upstairs. They broke our doors and forced themselves into our house. Using hammers, they hit walls, window glasses, and doors. They put my wife on gunpoint, asking her to reveal my whereabouts. They stole money, numerous valuable documents, and all electronic gadgets. They took phones, laptops, chargers, our internet system, our CCTV system, speakers, and any electronic gadget they could lay their criminal hands on. They entered every part of our house, including the ceiling, and left so much destruction everywhere. They grabbed my wife's phone, forced her to sit down, and ordered her to remove her password. She refused. They strangled her and insulted her. They forcefully removed her blouse and took pictures! Speaking Runyakore, they asked why she would get married to a muganda, and why we would dare challenge Museveni. They beat up our askari and house maid. They ordered the askari to show them where the basement is, where I was hiding. These criminals asked where my children were! My wife was rushed to hospital where she remains admitted - dealing with all the physical and psychological trauma. Yet in all this, we remain firm in our belief that UGANDA WILL BE FREE.
